All-Clad Master Chef 2 Seven Customer Reviews

Real Reviews Submitted by Real Users

At the end of June I bought this set of cookware as a belated college graduation present for myself.  So far, it's performed a lot better than I expected:  I don't put them in the dishwasher but the stainless steel is easy to get clean by hand, and I haven't detected any hot spots (I used my new IR non-contact thermometer to look for them).  The clad steel-aluminum-steel construction is great.  It spreads the heat evenly and retains heat extremely well.  Another thing I love is how you can take this cookware off the stovetop and pop it right into the oven.  Try doing that with your favorite non-stick pan!

This set cooks great, but its price knocks down the rating a bit.  I wish it cost a little less, but I guess you really do get what you pay for.  And it does come with a lifetime warranty - so ask me what I think about the set in 30 or 40 years!  I highly recommend this set of cookware if you have the money for it.

This Master Chef 2 set is amazing because everything in it is stripped down to the essentials so that it provides the best performance.  It includes the best of what you really need to get totally immersed in cooking.  I love the set's brushed aluminum exterior - I even love the scratches and wear because it proves how much I'm using the pieces.

I noticed right away how well this cookware transfers heat, how well high-heat dishes turn out, and how easy the pots and pans clean up.  They're a whole lot better than my Calphalon pots and pans, and I highly recommend them.

I need to get a new set of All-Clad Master Chef 2 pots and pans - my ex-wife is taking our old set in the divorce.  At least I get to keep our Wusthof knives!  I've been looking at some other cookware sets but I've decided to buy these again because I know I like them and they work well.  The brushed exterior is attractive and I don't need to polish them like I would if the surface was mirrored.  Naturally, cooking with them is great.

I don't like cleaning them but I have to in order to keep them in great condition.  Water spots and bits of burnt food (I never claimed to be a good cook and even a great cookware set won't make me into a great chef overnight) will stay on these pans unless you clean them properly.  I've learned that cleaning them with soapy water works best to remove the burnt food, but some stains will still be there.  So, after the food is gone I scrub the spots and stains away with some Barkeeper's Friend and a soft cloth.  Scrubbing in big circles to match the cooking surface's circular grain pattern seems to work the best.  After that I get rid of the Barkeeper's Friend residue by using some more soapy water.  Then I towel dry them right away.

I've read that this cookware is dishwasher-safe, although it's not recommended.  I keep them looking good by going through all the steps I mentioned above - each and every time, for each and every piece.  It's a hassle, but this cookware is high quality and it's worth it.  The set my ex-wife is taking is around a year and a half old but looks brand new.  The few small scratches they have on the exterior are due to clumsiness more than anything, and they certainly don't affect the cookware's performance.

I'd recommend this cookware to anyone who's willing to take care of them.  Unless you're like me and lose them in a divorce, this will be the last set of cookware you'll ever need to buy.
