This set of cookware is the perfect choice for anyone that enjoys cooking at home. The exteriors are stainless steel over top of a core made from aluminum. The heat is disbursed evenly and the nonreactive cooking surfaces are a bonus. Even though they do not have any nonstick coating applied, if you follow the directions (preheat your oil before you drop things in to fry) your food will usually not stick at all. You will also avoid the fear of the Teflon coming off and getting into the food you are cooking. The surfaces are made of stainless steel so you should have no problem with cleaning them.

If you have only cooked on the cheaper cookware in the past, you will have to get used to a few things that are different with this set. The first thing to remember is that the balance point for pouring things out of the pot is actually with your hand up against the pot because of the weight of the pan, instead of at the end of the handle. The handles are steel as well so they will be hot enough to use a pot holder in order to pour. You may be OK with bare hands just moving it from one burner to another but for extended holding you should protect your hands. The handles on the lids are also made of steel so the pot holder should be used when you are lifting the lid. You should let your guests know this too in case they decide to try to help. The cookware is actually made in Canonsburg, PA but the lids are all made in China.

If you are cooking on a glass cook top, All Clad is not the choice to make. The glass cook top causes the cookware to warp and you will not be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer. It was over a year that I had my first All Clad and I was very good to it but when I used it on the glass top, it got so warped that the nonstick surface began to peal. I was not able to get a replacement from the manufacturer so I had basically just thrown two hundred and fifty dollars right out the window.

I purchased this cookware set as a gift at a shower. It was a great price and a very nice product. The service was great and the shipping was on time.

I have never purchased a set of cookware before and so far it is great and the cleaning is easy. We moved away from the nonstick cookware because of health concerns and we are very happy with the choice.
