Kitchen Aid Gourmet Essentials Hard-Anodized 12 Customer Reviews

Real Feedback Submitted by Real Users!

I had decided that I wanted to surprise my wife on Christmas with a new set of cookware. I saw a few different brands at the stores and after looking all of them over, I decided to go with the Kitchen aid. The Calphalon seemed to have some rough non-stick coating that I thought might cause the food to stick. The Analon had non-stick coating on the outside of the pans as well, which I thought could get scratched easily since that is what appeared to be happening to the display models. The Kitchen Aid set had a nice and smooth non-stick surface and silicone handles that can go in the over up to 400 degrees. Once we had owned the cookware for over a month, my wife and I were officially in love with it. About that one negative review where the person thought the handles were too flimsy, I had thought about this too, but this appeared to only be the case with the 12 inch sauté pan but it has the little "helper handle" on the other side so it really has not been that much of a problem.

I have had this cookware for a little over 3 years and I must say that it is the best that I have ever owned. It really does cook evenly and it is super easy to clean, even after I have burned something on it. After use of heavy usage, this set still looks new. It is still the first thing I grab when I am getting ready to cook up something for dinner.

When my grown daughters get ready to cook, this is the first cookware that they reach for. So, after a few months of having my own, I went ahead and purchased them their own sets. I just couldn't resist, plus they were on sale at the time.

A friend of my daughter just loved her set so much that she soon purchased a set of her own. And the list goes on and on...

Saying that this set of pots is really good is an understatement.

What's the bottom line? It's that this set of pots rock!

I absolutely love this set that I bought 3 or 4 years ago. I still use it today and like the other reviewer mentioned, I love the lids as they sit well with no gaps and they are extremely durable. Also, the handles are great. They don't get hot at all. I also love how you are able to put the saucepans right into the oven. All of the pots are very thick and heavy, so it does take a little extra time to heat them up. I do like it that way though since when I finally do remove it from the heat, I know that the pot is going to stay hot for a very long time.

Even the bottom finish on the pots are still in wonderful shape after being used for years. However, the two frying pans are starting to show just a small amount of wear at the bottom. I do have to keep oiling them in order to keep things from sticking. Of course, they might be showing the most wear because I probably use those two pieces the most. I did contact KitchenAid and they said that they would replace them for me. All I have to do is to send them in. Overall, I say this is a very good set.

I have been using this set a lot over the past 3 months and I must say - I love it! The non-stick coating works wonders and cleaning is very easy thanks to that. The lids are also heat proof, which is very nice. I had cooked my chicken and veggie dish, biryani, twice in the 6 quart cookpot and it did come out nicely. I am crossing my fingers hoping that this set will at least last me two years.

1. I want to see just how long this set will last.
2. I found that the bottom of the pans became a little discolored after just a couple of uses. It won't come off, even with a lot of scrubbing. It isn't damaging the coating or anything like that. It is just that it doesn't look the best. Overall, I think that this is a great set for the amount of money that I paid for it.
