KitchenAid has really outdone itself this time. You are certainly not going to be sorry that you made this
purchase. Overall, I rate this product 2nd to the world's leading cookware, All-Clad. Of course, to purchase
All-Clad, you would really have to shell out the big bucks. But I mean really, how has that kind of money? If you
don't want to spend your life savings on cookware but still want high quality, then take a look at KitchenAid. You
will want to keep in mind that the food is going to be able to stick to any stainless steel if you are not first
heating it up first. You have to allow the pan to heat up, then add the oil and then the ingredients. The pan can
only do so much. Also, you might want to make sureto remember to only fry your eggs in a non-stick pan or it will
simply be a mess.
Honestly, this is the best set of cookware that I have ever owned. It is very heavy, but beautiful and it cooks
very well. It distributes heat evenly throughout the pan with the help of the aluminum core. The lids will fit
nicely on the tops of the pots, creating a very nice seal. The handles are attached through the use of double
rivets, are oven safe and have soft cool handles. By making sure that you are properly using oil, you will be able
to prevent just about all food from sticking to the pan. Personally, I still like to use non-stick pans for my eggs
though, which is something I will probably always do. Clean up is simple and if there is anything stuck to the pan
I simply soak is for a bit. Also, you want to avoid using metal utensils because the metal can cause small
scratches in the stainless, making it easier for food to stick.
I did a lot of research before I purchased this cookware and I am glad that I did. The KitchenAid cookware got
good overall reviews in Consumer Reports and other online forums. I've been extremely happy with the set since I
first got it. The pans are heavy (but not too heavy) and the silicone handles are great -- no hassling with
potholders every time I need to grab a handle. I had to figure out the nuances of heating oil in the frying pans...
if the oil gets too hot too fast it tends to adhere to the metal and is a pain to scrub off, but I only had that
problem once & now I know better. I also like the peace of mind of using stainless steel versus the aluminum.
The best features of this cookware set are that the pots and pans heat fast and evenly, while retaining their
heat), while the handles stay cool to the touch. I have used every pot/pan in this set and they are all perfectly
functional and perform as they should. For the price, I couldn't have asked for a better set of cookware.
When thinking about it all, I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The only problem I have is that the
stockpot seems to have some pitting on the bottom after using it just one single time. I didn't notice this pitting
before cooking the pasta. I did use some fresh ground sea salt to season the water and it was once I emptied the
pot that I noticed the apparent pitting. I tried everything, including bar keepers friend, and nothing worked.
Since then, I have used the stock pot without any problems. I do also have the 10 inch skillet to sauté the
mushrooms and haven't had any problems with that thankfully. The pitting might have been on the bottom of the pot
when I first received it. It was a brand new set though, which could be noticed right away by the way they packaged
it all.
I really do feel that I got a high quality cookware set for the money that I spent. I advise anyone looking for
a new cookware set to give this a try. You won't regret it!
