I have went through and made my "likes and dislikes" list of all of the various cookware sets that I have used
throughout the years.
My List: Easy to clean, non-stick, no rivets in the cooking area, no squishy handles, ventable clear covers,
durable lining for meat and also something that I am not going to have to spend money replacing every few
years.
After a long search on the web, I found the perfect cookware for my needs, which was the Swiss Diamond. So far,
so good as I am still very happy with it all.
I will give a word of warning though. The food really does not stick. How is this a warning? Well, I just about
tossed my breakfast right out of the skillet one morning when I went to move it to a different burner. Needless to
say, the cleaning of the cookware has been really easy.
I like the clear ventable covers because I don't have to remove the lids in order to see if things are ready to
be turned over. Also, the covers ensure that my stove is not going to be covered with grease from me checking the
status of the food every couple of minutes.
While I have not yet cooked any meat with bones in it yet, I have seen my 13 year old scramble eggs with a metal
fork, which terrified me greatly. However, there weren't any marks made so I think that it is safe to assume that
meat with bones will not be that much of an issue. As it turns out, diamonds are way more than just a girls best
friend.
Negative: First, thee stew pot is a lot larger than I am used to, which makes it a little hard to resist cooking
double batches. Of course, having plenty of leftovers on hand can be a good thin. Second, the price was a little
more than what I am used to paying for replacements. However, if I am not going to have to get a new set of
cookware every few years, I'm fine with that.
Update 4 Years Later: Just as I had thought, the meat with bones in it has not caused any damage to the
cookware. I ended up liking the stew pot a lot more than I thought I would. There are no warped bottoms, stained
lids or loose handles. I am extremely happy with this set of cookware.
I first got these pots and pans for my girlfriend a year ago because she was all about wanting "diamonds". While
this might not have been what she had expected, she was still very happy with them. She thinks that they are very
good to cook with and they have held up over the past year. She does wish that the lids allowed for a little more
venting. Since I end up washing some dishes, I myself have fond that they are incredibly easy to clean. There ended
up being a tinted brown color on the bottom of the pan but this might have been caused by overheating. However,
they still look great.
You will want to get these pans for someone you care about, even if you just get them for yourself.
And just so you know, she did end up getting the diamonds she originally wanted later on that year.
I'll admit, I am not that much of a cook so I bought this cookware set for my parent last Christmas. We have
been using it everyday and in almost an entire year, nothing has stuck to the surface so cleaning up after meals
has always bee easy. All of the pieces still look brand new. As someone who has personally had to spend hour after
hour trying to get the goo off of pans, I find that this set is super amazing.
I had purchased this set of Swiss Diamond as a nice gift and have done so several times before. The Swiss
Diamond set is the only set that we use and we recommend them to everyone we end up having a conversation with
about cooking.
This cookware is excellent. Nothing will stick to it and I was even able to wash the pieces in the dishwasher
without finding discoloration. This set seems to perform just as well as the Cuisinart, All Clad and Calphalon.
