Can I connect insulated stove pipe directly to the wood stove?
I am hooking up a wood stove and was wondering if it’s possible to connect the insulated pipe directly to the wood stove.
You need to use the insulated pipe from the ceiling box up. You DON’T necessarily have to settle for single wall pipe down to the stove. There is a pipe called "close clearance" stove pipe which is double wall but not insulated. We heat our store with wood and the pipe stays cool enough that it won’t burn you on contact. If you’re using a good air tight EPA stove you shouldn’t be losing enough heat up the pipe to help "heat" the house with. If you can post what brand of insulated pipe you’re using I can send you all of the part numbers that you need. Hope this helps! I hate seeing so much bad information on here!!

What choices have you got? Connect an uninsulated pipe to the wood stove?
It’s going to be one or the other…or lots of smoke in the house.

i dont think it can hook up to a wood stove directly though you need to have the proper connection from the wood stove to the insulated part of the pipes.

That is not the normal way to install it. Will need a box (not sure of the correct term) that attaches to the framing at your ceiling or through the wall, use the insulated pipe from that box up and use single wall pipe from your stove to the box. You will get more heat from your stove using single wall pipe inside the living space.

If you are talking triple wall exhaust pipe, yes. If you have kids, that will keep them from getting burned.
