You DON'T necessarily have to settle for single wall pipe down to the stove. There is a pipe called "close clearance" stove pipe which is double wall but not insulated. We heat our store with wood and the pipe stays cool enough that it won't burn you on contact. If you're using a good air tight EPA stove you shouldn't be losing enough heat up the pipe to help "heat" the house with. If you can post what brand of insulated pipe you're using I can send you all of the part numbers that you need. Hope this helps! Will need a box (not sure of the correct term) that attaches to the framing at your ceiling or through the wall, use the insulated pipe from that box up and use single wall pipe from your stove to the box.
